Pathetic.
I thought that Human Beings were supposed to be intelligent, respectful, considerate, sensitive, inteligent, oh yes and intelligent; oh bull, I should know by now that many are simply pathetic, starting on those that make rules.
Watching daytime TV, sometimes shows you what is really going on and you just feel like go live on the Moon.
Watching a program called “Airline” showing on ITV2, that portraits the stupidity of Easyjet, really can make anyone with the most basic of intelligence, sick. Someone that is afraid of who knows what, decided that people in the UK, flying domestic routes, say from London to Bristol, have to have photo identification. In this program in particular, two cases are shown. One of a lady 28 weeks pregnant, flying to a Medical appointment. The lady failed to see the new rules, published after she bought her ticket and so presented herself at the airport without any photo ID. Easyjet was ready and pleased to stop her from flying, getting the lady to a very upset state and the stuff shown no consideration at all for her condition. Apart from that, they have some “TV show star wannabe” that is already some sort of manager, when the guy is freshly out of nappies, no life experience apart from numerous drinking parties, but that insists that rules are rules no matter what. So, after a long period of seeing this lady truly upset, in tears and distress, they had her phone someone at home in Glasgow, to ask them to take her passport to Easyjet at Glasgow airport and maybe once they verified it, they would allow her to travel.
The other case, was that of a lady in her 70s with an expired passport, that they did not accept, because it was expired for longer than 2 years. Confronted with the stupid problem, the lady consulted another company, who did accept to allow her to travel, no problem.
People, governments are only afraid, when they have reasons to be. Let me explain. Although I do understand that a politician cannot please every single citizen, if they are truthful, honest, open and less damn crafty in their ways, then no one would want to kill them, right? My point being, why would a 28 weeks pregnant lady be a threat on an airplane? Was she carry explosives and not a baby? I think not. Was a lady in her 70s, a terrorist? I think not.
This has become a plastic society, bureaucratic as hell, where the rule makers are mistrusting of the citizens in general, the government is incapable of dealing with those that are a real threat because maybe, of too much political correctness, but they do allow companies to bully and mistreat passenger and clients, based on rules that years ago were not needed, did not make any sense and do not make any sense now.
It is sad to see almost on a daily basis, how a government, any government, is incapable of dealing with the true problems within the society, brings out pathetic rules, does not deal with the root causes of a degenerating society (and I am on about our youth in particular), yet they want ID cards for those that are from outside the EU. You know, it may be that if instead of seeing people that come over, as a problem and try to learn from them, why their children do so much better at school, why their children do not call their mothers, bitches. How their children learn to respect not only family, but everyone else in the society.
Ok, so I diverged into other matters,. I guess because one sees the problems growing, the solutions missing and the political solutions are those of cuffing the population, when this country was the shinning example of civil liberties, but sadly no longer. Oh and by the way, here is a new one. If you make your pet dog fat, you may end up in jail for it, but if you rob a person, you get a slap and are sent to do community work. You are fined, road fined, left right and centre and if you don't pay up, pretty soon what would have cost you £60, may very well turn into hundreds if not thousands of pounds and the damn bailiffs will not leave you alone. Go rob a senior citizen and frighten the life out of them and you get sent to some social project that is supposed to teach you how to behave in society. Fuck it all, the world is upside down and politicians are totally out of touch with the world of today, the needs and the people and they fail to see the damage they are causing, in the medium and long run.
Back to transport and to finish, it is just amazing the delays, the treatment received by the clients, specially on the part of the budget airlines, but BA is almost as bad. It is ridiculous when they spend precious minutos telling people they can't board, when in the same time, they could and should process the person and take her to the plane, the damn thing stays there for another 30 or 40 minutes, doing fuck all, but they will tell you they are doing something and just can't put you on-board. Yes they are doing what should be done earlier, if they were organised.
Traveling by air is expensive in every way, out of date as well, as there are ways today, of traveling without so much cost and fuss. No, I am not going to give solutions to the politicians, they earn hundreds of thousands of Pounds, I earn nothing in comparison, they should bring in better solutions, but maybe they just favour the interests of the few and theirs, because once they leave office, they get nice plump contracts of millions. By the way, I wonder what Tony Blair has the capability of teaching!!! How to cheat?
